Halo Update (A Major, Major Update)

Director: Peter Jackson
Design: WETA

This news is so big that it's making Halo fanatics crazy about how awesome the movie's going to be. I'm excited but still waiting to see how King Kong looks, to see if Jackson can carry his amazing talent with Lord of the Rings through another movie (since all his pre-LOTR movies were sick cheap horror flicks). But if he succeeds with King Kong, Halo will be incredible.

Sanguine, if you're set on living in the Alps by the time this movie comes out ('07, I think), then I'll need to fly back to see it. would you care to come too? or perhaps once you're gone, you'll vow never to retern to anything technologic, such as amplified sounds of a movie or projected images. will you never visit civilization at all, then? what about class reunions? you can come back to visit old friends with a Swiss accent and you'll be wearing a dress made of plants and flowers in your hair. that would be humorous. (by the way, what language IS a Swiss accent? German? Italian? I admit, I'm out of touch.) oh well.

Swiss is its own language? what's it called, Swiss? I've never heard anyone say, "I speak Swiss." that's weird.

the people are Swiss, the cheez is Swiss, the knives are Swiss, the Alps are Swiss, the chocolate is Swiss, why wouldn't the language be Swiss?

of course you haven't ~ they would say "I speak Swiss" in Swiss.

alright. this had to be settled, so I did a google. I just knew that "Swiss" was a goofy name for a language that I had never heard of.

so at http://www.about.ch/culture/languages/words_n_phrases.html (oh yes. I DID just document my source. I am now behooved, Mrs. Grube), I found that there are four main languages spoken in Switzerland:
German (74%), French (20%), Italian (4%) and Romansh (1%)

there we go. that is now settled. (and I just can't help but point out that in my original comment, I guessed German AND Italian.)
