A contaminated kiss kills teenager

A TEENAGER with an extreme nut allergy has died after kissing her boyfriend hours after he had eaten a peanut-butter sandwich.
Christina Desforges went into anaphylactic shock after the kiss. She was given an adrenaline shot and taken to a hospital in Quebec City but died four days later from acute respiratory failure.
Doctors said the reaction to the minute traces of peanut on the boy's lips was the cause of Christina's death last week. Her boyfriend has not been named.
Dr Karen Sigman, a Canadian allergy expert, said: "If peanuts are still in the mouth, or on the tongue or on the lips, they can cause a reaction.
Besides the fact that 15-year-olds shouldn't be kissing anyway... Well, I'm at a loss for words.

That's terrible!!! That poor guy has to feel awful too...
sanguine
if all it took to knock her off was a trace of peanut that tiny, then it was only a matter of time. imagine having to live life checking EVERY single thing you eat for any possible trace of something. what about cafeterias, or restaurants, or summer camps? she's been put out of unquestionable future misery.

ps- Sanguine, don't you hate how we now have to enter "word verification" every time?
Eskimo, that's extremely callous of you. people live with allergies like that all the time. i highly doubt she would've had a completely miserable life just cuz she had to avoid peanuts.

p.s.
yes, the word verification smells like stupid.
My goodness! who is this Swedish Eskimo, and how can they be so cold?! That sound's like Scrooge's "Decrease the surplus population"!! Oh don't even get me started on judging someone's quality of life. THat's a pandemic waiting to explode, what with abortion and euthenasia. I feel so sorry for the boy, he must feel horrible. I wouldn't release my name either. You'd end up with the nickname "Kiss of Death" or something.

Darn word verification...grr. I mean really, obviously if you're posting a comment, they shouldn't have to test your literacy, or you wouldn't be posting a comment...!
I'M COLD?? Edmond's the one who thought this was possibly funny. I'm just being realistic. if it only took that to overdose her allergy allowence, I wonder how she made it this long. how can you check EVERY single thing you eat for your entire life? that's insane.
now Finien, you do realize what the word verification is for, don't you? if anyone recalls, this (and other blogs) had been getting spam comments. the verification makes sure that only individual human users can post. it's a good thing, just an annoying way of fixing the problem.
now, Finien, do I know you, or are you just some random person from cyber-space? this is mysterious.

that's a much more sensible purpose for a word verification. And I still say you're cold, Eskimo, talking about putting her out of her misery and what. I knew eventually my identity would come into question, since I never announced myself. I have positively no idea who you are, Swedish Eskimo, and anyone who knows me would know the meaning of my name and thus my person. hmmm, was that too mysterious? I think, perhaps, Edmond knows.
yes, that seems a much more reasonable purpose for a word verification.

I knew eventually my identity would be called into question, because I never announced myself. I have positively no idea who you are, Eskimo, and anyone who knew me would know the meaning of my name, and thus my person. I believe, perhaps, Edmond knows.

Hmmm, darn that word verification, I thought it had deleted my post, so I posted another, not knowing. Now it looks like I repeat myself. I fear, it will seem as though I were repetative. I would hate to be redundant...
i think i know who you are Finien, but i'm not going to guess yet in case I'm wrong. i'll be keeping an eye out for your posts. do you know who I am? gosh that would be awkward...
-sanguine
sanguine, I think I know who Finien is as well. perhaps we both are thinking of the same person. hmm. and Finien, do tell: are you aware of who sanguine is?
